When Ben Olson of Hunter, North Dakota visited his local powersports dealership, Dakota Cat, to purchase a new side-by-side, there was no question what brand he was going to purchase. A staunch Arctic Cat® fan, Olson was ready to give the Textron Off Road’s new Havoc Xa try.
“I have owned a 2010 Prowler™ and a 2016 Wildcat™ X. The Havoc X is a perfect hybrid of both. It has the practicality of the Prowler with the fun of the Wildcat X,” said Olson. “Plus, my dealer is hands-down the best in the country.”
Olson wasn’t aware of Textron Off Road before the acquisition of Arctic Cat, but was impressed by the effort the company put into developing Havoc X. He explained the vehicle as an “uproar in the side-by-side market,” as he feels there’s no other vehicle equipped with similar qualities and features.
Using the vehicle predominately for recreation – exploring the trails of Minnesota or traveling gravel in North Dakota – Olson also plans to hunt and use the vehicle for work applications. He cites the class-leading suspension and ground clearance as two of the reasons he made the purchase. Other features that drew him to the vehicle were its 957cc, 100-horsepower motor; King shocks; and its towing and hauling capabilities. And when it comes to ice fishing, there’s nothing like being able to throw his ice auger and tackle boxes in the spacious storage area behind the seats.
Although he hasn’t been able to put a bunch of hard miles on the vehicle due to North Dakota’s winter conditions, Olson is sold on the Havoc X. This long-time, self-proclaimed “Arctic Cat Guy” has added Textron Off Road to that nomenclature.
